Theatre on stage! House of Youth Zehlendorf is looking for young talent
The “Haus der Jugend Zehlendorf” is looking for theater-loving children between the ages of 11 and 15 for a new children’s theater project. This is carried out under the direction of Andreas Schrobitz, the first chairman of Romy connects e.V. and an inspiring personality in theater culture. The project start is planned for October 13, 2025. The group's goal is to perform a self-developed play or a showcase in the coming year.
Due to the renovation of the house, the rehearsals will take place in the Flemmingstrasse youth leisure facility. The entrance is at Paulsenstraße 22, 12163 Berlin. After the renovation is completed, the project will continue in the Haus der Jugend from October 13, 2025, every Monday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Participation in this exciting project is free of charge. Those interested can contact by email jfehausderjugend@ba-sz.berlin.de or call 030-80909913 for further information.
The role of Andreas Schrobitz
Andreas Schrobitz, who takes over the management of the theater project, exudes passion for the art of acting. His enthusiasm for Romy Schneider began in 2004 with the film “La Piscine”. This fascination led to the founding of the association, the focus of which is the recognition of Romy Schneider's acting achievements. The other founding members show similar enthusiasm and commitment in the field of art and culture.
Julia Hübner and Janine Schneider are also active members and share their inspiration from the Sissi trilogy and the strong personality of Romy Schneider. The association has set itself the goal of keeping Romy Schneider's work and significance alive in order to create appropriate recognition in film history.
Cultural participation in Berlin
The KiA program, which will be used in Lichtenberg in 2023 to promote art and culture in districts with few offerings, is also relevant for the children's theater project in the “Haus der Jugend Zehlendorf”. A total of 20 projects in the Lichtenberg district received funding from the KiA program of the Senate Department for Culture and Europe. The program focuses on children's, youth and puppet theater and aims to increase cultural participation.
The performances, which have taken place at various locations since May 15, 2023, include numerous exciting plays for young audiences. Funding these theater projects is a further step towards strengthening the cultural infrastructure for children and young people in Berlin. In addition to the “Haus der Jugend Zehlendorf”, other venues in Berlin also benefit from this initiative in order to create a broader offering.
The theater project in the “Haus der Jugend Zehlendorf” not only represents a valuable opportunity for young actors, but is also in line with efforts to make the cultural scene more attractive for the next generation.
