Public green spaces are of enormous importance for the ecology in cities. They not only provide a habitat for numerous plants and animals, but also help to improve the local climate by acting as dust and exhaust filters. The care and maintenance of these areas are central tasks of municipalities, which rely on competent service providers such as building yards and city garden centers. According to information from lfu.bayern.de, it is also important to regularly record the condition of the open spaces and to determine suitable maintenance and development measures.
The use of native plants and the avoidance of chemical plant protection are also important steps towards increasing biodiversity and promoting a healthy ecosystem in urban areas.
