Day of the Elderly: Experience shared joy in Pankow!
On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, on the occasion of Older People's Day, an open day will take place in the meeting places of the Pankow Office for Social Affairs. This event is aimed at anyone interested and offers a wide range of offers to promote community and participation among older people. “berlin.de” reports that visitors can expect moving and creative programs, receive information about getting older and have the opportunity to make new contacts and get together socially over coffee and cake.

Financial support for older people
In addition to the activities in the meeting places, older people with at least care level 1 have access to financial support in the form of a relief amount of up to 125 euros per month. This financial assistance can be used for different types of support, such as household help, shopping assistance and group activities that promote mental or physical fitness.
