On October 23, 2025, a special event will take place in Berlin: the opening of the newly renovated Schoeler Schlösschen. On Sunday, June 29, 2025, district councilor Heike Schmitt-Schmelz will start the celebrations at 2 p.m., which are open to both neighbors and interested parties. With a varied program, the festival promises to celebrate the 275-year history of the building and at the same time provide an outlook on the new use of the cultural venue. The Schoeler Schlösschen, which is located at Wilhelmsaue 126 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, has an eventful history behind it. Originally part of a mulberry tree plantation, it served various purposes over the centuries, including as a middle-class country residence and home to the Hitler Youth. After extensive renovation, it will in future function as an open cultural space for exhibitions, creative workshops and neighborly exchange, as the house's website states schoeler-schloesschen-berlin.de.

The opening celebration will be organized with various activities. Highlights include:

- Eine Führung zur Ausstellung mit Kuratorin Christine Kisorsy
- Live barocke Gitarrenmusik
- Eine Lesung des Dokumentartheaters Berlin über frühere Bewohner:innen, einschließlich Professor Heinrich Schoeler
The exhibition “Square is Modern – Urban Redevelopment 1960-1980” will also be on view from July 29th to September 30th, 2025, Friday to Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
New cultural hotspot in Berlin
The revival of the Schoeler Schlösschen is part of a larger trend in Berlin, where numerous art exhibitions and cultural events have been taking place in historic buildings and industrial facilities since June 2023.
