Climate festival in the Volkspark: Celebration for environmental protection on July 5th!

The climate festival in the open-air cinema in Volkspark Friedrichshain is coming up and promises an exciting event for all citizens who want to get involved in climate protection and sustainable initiatives. The event takes place onJuly 5, 2025from1 p.m. to 10 p.minstead and is free of charge. District mayorClara Herrmannthe celebrations will be over2:30 p.mofficially open and offer numerous activities and programs.

Visitors can look forward to information and participation stands from1 p.m. to 7 p.mbe happy. The event aims to set an example for a livable and sustainable district, as well as to promote networking between civil society, administration and specialist audiences in the areas of climate protection and climate adaptation.

Program and highlights

The climate festival includes a variety of program items. After the opening it will be about2:45 p.mThere will be speeches from climate experts, including:Carla Reemtsmafrom Fridays for Future andProf. Dr. Jürgen Kroppfrom the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. OneFishbowl discussionfrom3:10 p.m. to 4:40 p.mwill provide an opportunity to exchange opinions and ideas.

The festival will be accompanied musically byGloria Viagraas well as DJ Bianca Kruk(aka Manuela Schininà) by4:40 p.m. to 7 p.m. Afterwards it takes place7 p.man evening program with live bands likeBrass RiotandBernadette La Stallioninstead of. The entire event will be hosted by Gloria Viagra.

Catering and accessibility

Culinary supplies are provided: street food providers such as Goldmund & Lunchalot will be present, and drinks can also be purchased at the cinema bar. The event is designed to be barrier-free. Visitors can easily get to the event location using public transport:

  • S-Bahnhof Landsberger Allee, dann Tram M5, M6, M8
  • Tram-Linien M5, M6, M8 ab Alexanderplatz, Haltestelle “Platz der Vereinten Nationen”
  • Tram-Linie M10 aus Prenzlauer Berg und von Warschauer Straße, Haltestelle: “Landsberger Allee / Petersburger Str.”

The outdoor cinema site is largely paved and wheelchair accessible, and gender-neutral and wheelchair-accessible toilets are also available. Dogs are welcome on a leash, and bike racks are also available.
