Big Lake Festival in Berlin: 20 years of the Obersee & Orankesee Association!
The Obersee & Orankesee Friends' Association is celebrating a very special anniversary this year: On Saturday, September 6, 2025, it is hosting the Lake Festival on the occasion of its 20th birthday. The event takes place at the popular Orankesee lido, Gertrudstraße 7 in Berlin, and starts at 2 p.m. Visitors can enter the lido from 1 p.m. The entry price is free for children up to 12 years, while adults have to pay 6 euros in advance and 8 euros at the box office. District mayor Martin Schaefer (CDU) will act as patron of the festival and officially open it at 3 p.m., together with the board of the support association and the lake festival team.
The highlights of the festival include a birthday parade by Fanfare Gertrude and a children's party, which is especially intended for younger guests. Various program items are offered that offer something for every age group. These include sandy beach swing, urban dance, singing along with the OrankeChor, a European tent, comedy acts, a circus show with Los Hobos, stilt walk acts, pantomime and a fire show.
Commitment and support
The implementation of the lake festival would not be possible without the support of over 80 volunteers. They are not only involved in the organization but also during the festival itself to ensure a smooth and entertaining experience. In addition, the event is supported by the Lichtenberg district office with district cultural funding, which underlines the importance of the event for the local community.
Various activities are available for sports enthusiasts, including volleyball, rugby, table tennis and boules. These activities ensure that the Lake Festival is a festival for the whole family that offers both cultural and sporting highlights.
