Discover Baumschulenweg: neighborhood tour with exchange of memories!
On October 19, 2025, a varied neighborhood tour will start in the Treptow-Köpenick district, inviting residents and interested parties to get to know their Baumschulenweg district better. The route will take participants through the residential area east of the railway line, starting at Rodelberg. On the way you pass the station underpass, followed by a further journey along Behringstrasse.
A highlight of the tour is the riverside path on the Britzer connecting canal, which runs towards Südostallee. A detour to the new music school on Mörikestraße is also planned. The tour will end at the RumBa children's, youth and family center (Baumschulenstraße 28), where drinks and snacks will be available. Here, participants have the opportunity to learn more about the history of the district and special places in so-called “conversation islands”.
Sharing memories and discoveries
The organizers invite all participants to share their own memories and discoveries from the Baumschulenweg district. You have the opportunity to share your favorite places in the neighborhood in advance using a survey tool. This not only promotes community, but also enriches the tour with personal stories. Participants are also encouraged to bring photos, stories or memorabilia to demonstrate their connection to the district.
The neighborhood tour is designed to be family-friendly, children are welcome and support is offered for participants with special needs. A prerequisite for participation is prior registration so that participants can be informed about possible changes due to the weather. The registration deadline for this is September 3, 2025, although the number of participants is limited.
Language and communication
The entire neighborhood tour will be conducted in German, but translations can be offered to enable non-German-speaking interested citizens to participate. For questions and further information, area coordinator Bastian Ignaszewski is available and can be contacted by email.
The event promises to be an interesting and educational experience for all participants and will help strengthen the community in the Baumschulenweg. Berlin.de reports that this initiative also provides an opportunity to promote local solidarity and discover historical elements of the district.
