The traveling exhibition “The Man Behind It” is currently taking place in the gallery in Johannisthal Town Hall in Berlin. This opened with a vernissage on September 15, 2025 and runs until October 6, 2025. The aim of the exhibition is to promote the visibility of attacks on employees of the police, fire brigade, public order office and other professional groups. She wants to focus on the individual stories and values of the people behind public office and invite people to question prejudices and take on new perspectives. The traveling exhibition caused a stir not only in Berlin, but also in Neuss. Here it opened in the Romaneum and shows portrait photos of paramedics, police officers and judicial representatives hanging in the hallways. The exhibition is presented by the Lions Club Neuss-Helen Keller and Lions Club Neuss Novaesia and is under the patronage of Ursula Platen, head of the school, education and culture department for the city of Neuss. The aim of the exhibition
The overarching goal of both exhibitions is to increase society's appreciation for these often overlooked professions. It becomes clear that a better understanding of the perception of jobs and the associated personality traits is crucial for success on the labor market in Germany. A research project by the Federal Institute for Vocational Training (BIBB) aims to clarify how different professions are perceived and which factors influence their attractiveness. The results of an additional survey to the BIBB/BAuA employment survey from 2017/2018, which included 9,011 people in Germany, are used, explains bibb.de.
In addition, the extent to which personality traits such as willingness to take risks and professional self-efficacy influence success in various task areas is examined. This also shows the relevance of such exhibitions, which help raise public awareness of the challenges and importance of these professions.
