Lichtenberg District Council: Citizens’ Questions Welcome!

The 43rd meeting of the Lichtenberg District Council (BVV) will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2025. This will be held at 5:00 p.m. in the Dong Xuan House, Herzbergstraße 129, 10365 Berlin. There are exciting topics on the agenda, including four open printed matter from the BVV from June 19, 2025, 24 new recommendations for resolutions from the committees and 17 motions for resolutions from parliamentary groups and individual representatives. The meeting also offers citizens the opportunity to ask questions, which must be registered no later than Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Questions can be sent either to the BVV office in Lichtenberg Town Hall or by email bvvlichtenberg@lichtenberg.berlin.de be submitted. It is recommended to register in good time.

Gregor Hoffmann, head of BVV Lichtenberg, chairs the meeting. Citizens can submit their questions in a question time, with one question and one query per person and topic allowed. A total of 20 minutes are available for the question time. The district office's reports are published as appendices to the meeting so that citizens can be fully informed. A telephone number is available for questions: 0173/2364724.

Citizen participation and appointment bookings

An important aspect of local government is citizen participation. The Office for Citizen Participation in Lichtenberg plans participation procedures for various projects so that citizens are actively involved in decision-making processes. Citizens have the opportunity to encourage their own participation, especially if no such participation is planned for existing projects. They can contact their district coordinator or the responsible office in the district administration directly to raise their concerns.

In addition, concerns can be processed at all citizens' offices in Berlin. Booking an appointment to visit the Citizens' Office is free of charge and is done electronically. It is recommended to reserve medium or long-term appointments, especially for non-urgent matters. For urgent matters, such as expired documents, visitors can appear without an appointment. It is important to check regularly for available appointments as these are updated daily. The citizen hotline 115 or the Berlin administration website are also available for booking appointments.

In situations in which appointments are associated with a legal deadline, confirmation of the booked appointment is considered proof of compliance with the deadline. However, interested citizens should be aware that requests made after deadlines are not an administrative offense and that concerns can still be processed. However, the bookings have no timely effect on court services.

These offers and formats stimulate and enable a dialogue between the administration and citizens, thereby promoting transparent and citizen-oriented politics. The next meeting of the BVV Lichtenberg will therefore not only be a place for political exchange, but also a platform to hear the voices of citizens and take their concerns into account.
