In the future, regular checks will be carried out by the public order offices at primary schools in order to continue to protect students on their way to school.
Education and awareness
Continuous work to improve road safety is a shared responsibility. This was particularly emphasized by State Minister Armin Schuster, who pointed out the over 20-year tradition of these traffic safety campaigns, which are part of police traffic prevention. The police are also encouraging parents of first graders to explore the route to school with their children to raise awareness of safe traffic conditions.
In addition to practical safety, the focus is also on traffic education in schools. According to a recommendation from Conference of Ministers of Education This is an overarching educational and upbringing task. Mobility and traffic education is supported by various materials such as brochures, flyers and films to train students in how to behave safely in traffic.
Particularly vulnerable transition phases, such as the move from daycare to primary school and secondary school, require special attention in road safety work. Targeted measures are intended to continuously improve the safety of our children in road traffic.
