Big garden festival in Frohnau: A celebration of creativity for everyone!
On September 5, 2025, the first joint garden festival of the city library, adult education center and Reinickendorf music school took place in Frohnau. Over 400 guests took advantage of the opportunity to experience a diverse cultural and educational program in bright sunshine. The event, which took place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the cultural and educational center at Fuchssteinerweg 13-19, aimed to present the broad offerings of the three institutions and invite visitors to an active exchange and participation. Berlin.de reports that the guests were able to give feedback, which will be used to further develop the location.
Bernd Schmieden, the head of the Office for Further Education and Culture, set an example for the openness of the institutions and their commitment to the community. During the event, City Councilor for Culture and Education Harald Muschner (CDU) unveiled a new identity for this important location with a temporary nameplate “Am Fuchsstein – Culture and Education House”. The name was developed in collaboration with the employees of the three institutions.
A celebration of creativity and music
The garden festival program was diverse and consisted of numerous activities. The highlights included the acrobatics and comedy duo “Los Hobos” as well as digital craft projects and MakeyMakey activities from the “Junge Tüftlern”. Introductory courses on various topics were also offered, including watercolor painting, yoga and experiential and creative dance. The music school's circle of friends ensured the physical well-being of all visitors with home-baked cakes and grilled sausages. The final highlight was the performance of the Bardomaniacs under the direction of Bardo Henning. My Berlin highlights that entry was free and there was no age limit for the activities offered.
The success of this event shows that the culture and education center wants to be a lively place for all generations. The high level of visitor interest and the numerous opportunities for participation underline the importance of such events for the community. The feedback from the guests, which will be evaluated by the next festival, will be crucial for the future direction of the location.
