New residential project in Pankow: 126 apartments and supermarket by 2027!
In Berlin-Buch, in the Pankow district, a new residential and commercial project with 126 apartments and a supermarket is being built. The construction project at Bruno-Apitz-Straße 14 began in January 2025 and is scheduled to be completed by May 2027. With a total living space of around 8,800 square meters and a commercial space of around 1,475 square meters, the supermarket on the ground floor will improve local supplies for residents.
The project is characterized by energy-efficient construction in accordance with the KfW 40 standard. It thus makes an important contribution to the urban development of the Buch district. The construction work, the shell of which is expected to be completed in March 2026, will be carried out by the Ten Brinke Group. Particular attention is paid to modern building technology, low operating costs and the creation of green and outdoor areas that are intended to promote neighborly coexistence.
Focus on sustainability in housing development
Another exciting project in the region is “Wilhelms Liebe”, which is being realized in the Wilhelmsruh district of Berlin. 11 modern and sustainable residential units will be created here. The shell construction has already been completed and the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on October 18, 2024. The apartments also meet the KfW Efficiency House 40 standard and rely on energy technologies such as photovoltaic systems and heat pumps.
A central goal of the project is to create barrier-free and flexible living space that meets the needs of different residents. This includes high-quality features from Grohe and Villeroy & Boch. The location offers a high quality of life in a natural environment and good connections to Berlin city center.
Innovative approaches in construction
In parallel to the creation of new living spaces, intensive work is also being done on sustainable construction methods in Berlin. A flagship project dedicated to climate and resource protection focuses on the use of ecological building materials to reduce CO2 emissions. Wood, cellulose and recycled materials are used to enable a comparison between conventional and sustainable materials.
The project aims to achieve CO2 savings of around 50% through the use of renewable raw materials in the building shell. In addition, it is examined how circular construction affects reuse and recycling at the end of the use phase.
These developments in Pankow and the surrounding area underline the current trend towards sustainable and contemporary housing construction in Berlin, which aims to meet both the needs of residents and the requirements for environmental and climate protection.
