New sports function building in Berlin -Mitte opened - sports and community in Holzmarktstrasse
Today, the new sports function building at the Holzmarktstraße 55 sports field was solemnly opened. Stephan Machulik, State Secretary for Housing and Tenant Protection of the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing, as well as Benjamin Fritz, district councilor for school and sports in Berlin-Mitte were present. The extension was renovated in the urban development area of Karl-Marx-Allee II and financed with federal and state funds of the urban development program "Living Centers and Quarters" in the amount of EUR 2.8 million.
The expansion of the sports function building offers multi-purpose rooms for sports and gymnastics offers that are also available for extra-curricular activities. This expansion is an important step in promoting the health well -being of citizens and creating a comprehensive range of sports enthusiasts of all ages.
The measures in the area have been supported with a total of € 16 million since the Karl-Marx-Allee II funding area was founded. The Karl-Marx-Allee II construction phase has been a funding area in the federal-state funding program "Living Centers and Quarters" since 2015 and plays an important role in the region's urban development.
The opening of the sports expansion construction at Holzmarktstraße 55 is considered a positive development for the Mitte district and especially for the area around Karl-Marx-Allee.
