A serious traffic accident occurred in Prenzlauer Berg yesterday evening. A 37-year-old tram driver was driving the M1 tram at around 6:10 p.m. when a 78-year-old pedestrian was standing on the median near the tram tracks. Suddenly she was hit in the arm by the passing tram, fell and got between the curb and the tracks, where she was dragged along.
The elderly woman suffered serious internal injuries and was immediately transported to a hospital for intensive medical treatment. The investigation into the incident is being led by a traffic crime commissioner from Police Directorate 1 (North).
