Signal rocket and stabbing: drama at Leopoldplatz in Wedding!
Yesterday morning, a dramatic encounter in Wedding caused a stir: a 34-year-old fired a signal rocket at a 36-year-old around 8:30 a.m., but luckily missed him. Instead, the bullet landed in a construction site on Müllerstrasse. But that was just the beginning! Immediately afterwards, a violent argument broke out between the two men in the forecourt of the old Nazareth Church, during which they threatened each other with kitchen knives.
When the police arrived, the two opponents continued to be aggressive and did not respond to requests to drop their weapons. Finally, a police officer was forced to draw his service weapon. Ultimately, officers used physical force to bring the men to the ground and arrest them. Both were taken into custody while proceedings were initiated against them for attempted grievous bodily harm and breaching the weapons law. In addition, the 34-year-old is being investigated on suspicion of violating the Explosives Act. A specialist commissioner has taken over the investigation.
