Yesterday evening there was a serious traffic accident in Berlin-Westend that affected a 63-year-old pedestrian. At around 9:30 p.m., the woman was crossed Masurenallee at Theodor-Heuss-Platz by a 50-year-old driver who did not pay attention to her when turning. The pedestrian suffered numerous violent injuries and skin injuries to her arm, head and torso and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
The emergency services were alerted and noticed a strong smell of alcohol on the driver's breath. He was taken into police custody as a precaution to have a blood sample taken, but was later released. The police department 2 responsible for traffic offenses has taken over the investigation in order to obtain clarity about the exact circumstances of the accident.
