Volker Beck, a politician of the Greens, commented on the current situation in the Gaza Strip. He emphasized that the wounds caused by the attack of Hamas can only heal if all hostages are freed and the danger of Hamas is eliminated. He pleaded for a break of fire and the exchange of terrorists for prisoners to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and end the suffering of hostages and their families. Beck made it clear that Hamas cannot end the war by demanding the release of the hostages. He emphasized that the war can only end when Hamas surrendered and gives up its weapons.
With regard to the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the President of the German-Israeli Society said that the care was difficult.
