Kiss and Rusek: VCW external attack is on!
VC Wiesbaden has completed its exceptional outside attack formation for the coming 2024/2025 season in the 1st Volleyball Bundesliga Women with two talented players. Gréta Kiss and Olivia Rusek will play for the club alongside the already well-known players Tanja Großer and Hannah Hartmann. This dynamic quartet promises a strong and diverse formation that will be difficult for opponents to figure out. Each player brings her unique strengths to this position, which gives VC Wiesbaden flexibility and variability. The new arrivals are highly motivated and ambitious; they want to achieve great things in Wiesbaden. These positive qualities bring a lot of joy to head coach Benedikt Frank and his assistant coaches Christian Sossenheimer, Tigin Yağlioğlu and Daniel Ramirez.
The 26-year-old Hungarian national player Gréta Kiss strengthens the VCW team with her experience and strong outside attack. Last season she played for SC Potsdam and also showed outstanding performances in France with the Terville Florange Olympic Club (TFOC) in the first division. Kiss was the best outside attacker in the Hungarian NB I League when she still played for Szent Benedek in Balatonfüred. Last season, the Potsdam women took fourth place in the 1st Volleyball Bundesliga with 29 points, six more than VC Wiesbaden in sixth place.
28-year-old Olivia Rusek has American and Polish citizenship and will also join the VCW outside attack. Rusek has already played in five different countries, including Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Portugal and most recently in France at Évreux Volley-Ball in the French second division (French Élite; 3rd place). This athletic player will come to Wiesbaden at the end of July and will certainly provide a lot of power with her height of 1.80 meters.
Coach Benedikt Frank is pleased about the signing of Gréta Kiss: "She is a player who is very aggressive at the net, can play fast balls and at the same time has good reception and defense. She is a real stroke of luck for us and will definitely help us move forward." The coach says about Olivia Rusek: "She is an athletic player with a good overview. She has gained a lot of experience internationally and now wants to prove herself in the 1st Volleyball Bundesliga. I am very pleased that we were able to win her for our team."
The new additions Gréta Kiss and Olivia Rusek, together with Tanja Großer and Hannah Hartmann, now form VC Wiesbaden's talented outside attack for the coming season. The team is highly motivated and hungry for success. The commitments of Kiss and Rusek underline the club's desire to develop further and be competitive in the 1st Bundesliga.
