Telekom improves mobile phone supply in the Barnim district: New locations for 5G expansion
Telekom has improved mobile phone supply in the Barnim district in the past two months. A new location was built and four locations were expanded with 5G. This increases the cover in the area, there is more bandwidth available and the reception in buildings improves. The locations were built in Chorin, Eberswalde and Wandlitz. Telekom improves mobile phone supply in the Barnim district: New locations for 5G expansion
Telekom has improved the mobile phone supply in the Barnim district by building a new location and expanding four more with 5G. These measures improve mobile phone coverage throughout the district, both in the area and in buildings.
The new locations are located in the municipalities of Chorin (3), Eberswalde and Wandlitz. The locations in Chorin and Eberswalde also serve to supply along the Berlin-Binz and Brandenburg-Nord-Berlin.
The need for bandwidth in the district of Barnim increases by around 30 percent annually, so Telekom will further advance mobile phone expansion in order to meet these increasing requirements.
currently the Telekom operates 93 locations in the Barnim district, which covered almost 100 percent of households. A further 27 locations are to be added by 2025 and extensions with LTE or 5G are planned at 44 existing radio masts.
