Serious accident on Märkischer Allee: Seven injured, two in danger of death!
A serious traffic accident occurred today on Märkische Allee in Berlin-Marzahn, in which seven people were injured, including two seriously. These two people are in critical condition, with one of them even in mortal danger, as rbb24 reports. The course of the accident shows that a van first collided with a car, skidded and rolled over. The van then rolled into oncoming traffic and crashed into other vehicles.
What is particularly tragic is that one person was probably thrown from the minibus. The rescue workers took five injured people to hospitals. Due to the extensive clean-up work and an expert's investigations, Märkische Allee remains closed for the time being.
Traffic accident statistics and safety
In order to better understand such accidents and increase road safety, monthly road traffic accident statistics are collected in Berlin. These statistics are not only important for collecting data on the road safety situation, but they also serve as a basis for measures in legislation, traffic education, road construction and vehicle technology. According to Statistics Berlin-Brandenburg, the surveys are mandatory for police departments that document accidents. They only include accidents that were recorded by the police on public roads and paths.
The aim of these surveys is to show the structures of accident events and the dependencies between different accident factors. The results of these statistics can therefore make a decisive contribution to improving road safety.
A look at the latest accident figures shows how important preventative measures are in road safety. And while the causes of this particular incident are still being determined, the injured are the focus of emergency services.
