artistic statements on pressing topics
The photo project "Humanity & Earth" was launched in 2018 and brings young photo talents from Sri Lanka together with experienced mentors such as Andy Spyra and Liz Fernando. The results of this creative exchange were already presented to the public in 2020. The open-air exhibition is open until September 30, 2025 and offers a platform to think about the global challenges of sustainability. The topics that form the focus of the exhibition are in particular the 17 global sustainability goals, such as marine protection, avoiding plastic waste and sustainable consumption.
The free guided tours for school classes and groups that are offered from 1 to 11 July 2025 are particularly noteworthy. Guided tours are carried out in English, and interested parties can register at sbne@charlottenburg-wilmersdorf.decultural dimension of the climate crisis
In the context of the current discussion about climate change and environmental protection, the connection between art and science is crucial. The Federal Environment Agency emphasizes that acceptance in the society for effective climate protection is essential in order to find solutions. An understanding between humans and nature is promoted by artistic forms of expression that raise awareness of environmental problems.
Such initiatives show that art is not only a mirror of society, but can also serve as a tool to overcome the communication barriers between the various actors in climate protection. In the future, increased cooperation between artists, scientists and political decision -makers will be necessary to develop solutions to the climate crisis together
