support and funding opportunities in Berlin
This initiative is part of a more comprehensive strategy that is funded by the cultural administration of the Senate. Around 600 million euros flow into the cultural landscape of Berlin every year, with around 95 percent being invested in over 70 permanently institutionally funded cultural institutions. The Youth Art Prize represents part of these funding that aims to support non -profit projects and institutions without intention to make a profit.
The decision on project funding is transparently and according to comprehensible criteria, especially with regard to the artistic quality. Independent advisory boards and juries contribute to assessment. This is particularly important for the youth art prize because the achievements of young artists are often in competition and are valued by this support.
