Modern teaching kitchen opened: Kladow celebrates inclusive learning!

Kladow, Deutschland - On June 24, 2025, the Hans-Carossa-Gymnasium in Kladow was ceremoniously inaugurated with a spectacular kitchen party. The event marked the end of an extensive renovation, during which new, modern rooms were created from the former caretaker apartment. The renovation, which started in July 2024, was finally realized after five years of vacancy and cost around 212,000 euros. In addition, the school invested 40,000 euros in the high -quality equipment of these new rooms.

The guests of the inauguration ceremony included district mayor Frank Webigig and School City Councilor Dr. Carola Brückner. The latter emphasized the importance of the new facilities for joint learning and social support. The new premises are particularly designed for the practical teaching of inclusion students and are therefore used specifically for these educational needs.

a team with challenges

A special insight into the practical challenges of students: Inside with special educational needs, there was a joint catering project at the Kant-Gymnasium. Five students: Inside from grades 7 to 10 of the Hans-Carossa-Gymnasium, lunch organized lunch for the teachers of the trial lessons. Although the new HCG kitchen was still under construction at this time, the students mastered: Inside the organization and implementation of the catering with flying colors.

Nevertheless, there were some hurdles to overcome. The BVG strikes make it difficult to transport food and the students: inside. The headmaster of the Kant-Gymnasium, Mr. Vehlow, was contacted to smooth the logistics. On Wednesday afternoon, a teacher of the small team was not stopped and bought all the required food and utensils.

On Thursday, the students prepared: Inside, who lived nearby, everything for catering, including the decoration of the rolls. The pre -ordered rolls were picked up on Friday morning and the preparation started at 8:00 a.m. The final edition at the Kant-Gymnasium was planned by 11:00 a.m.

Culinary diversity and positive response

A total of 16 plates were served with various sandwiches, including vegan and gluten -free options. At the buffet, the teachers were able to use donation base, and the panels were lovingly provided with tablets that characterized the different variants. The response to the catering was consistently positive. Bianca Diko-Watzke, one of the teachers involved, expressed that the preparations had given a lot of fun and it would probably not be the last catering.

These activities illustrate the challenges and opportunities associated with the implementation of inclusion in schools. A study by the Berlin Science Center for Social Research (WZB) from autumn 2021 illuminates the situation in Germany. The study evaluates the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities in the federal states and indicates that in some regions such as Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate, requirements are systematically violated. Inclusion is therefore not everywhere on the agenda, which makes the efforts to be particularly relevant for an inclusive school culture.
