Administrative Court Berlin: Modal filter in Tucholskystrasse illegally - district councilor Schriner announces legal examination
New review of the administrative court decision on the modal filter in Tucholskystrasse
The district office Mitte recently checked a decision by the Berlin Administrative Court to set up a modal filter in Tucholskystrasse. The district councilor for order, environment, nature, streets and green spaces, Christopher Schriner, commented on the decision and emphasized the importance of traffic safety for cyclists and pedestrians.
The Tucholskystrasse in Berlin-Mitte is part of the nationwide bicycle traffic network and was equipped with the modal filter to ban motor vehicles through. This measure is based on the Mobility Act and follows a political decision by the district council of Middle of Berlin. Despite the judgment of the administrative court, the establishment of the bicycle road is supported in civil society and regarded as an important contribution to increasing traffic safety.
District Councilor Christopher Schriner said: "We will respect the decision of the administrative court. In the next two weeks we will carefully examine the decision and consider whether we will take legal action.
