Redesign Helgoländer Ufer: Participation on March 18

The district councilor for order, environment, nature, streets and green spaces, Dr. Almut Neumann, announces that the Helgoländer bank will be redesigned in Berlin-Mitte. Between Thomasiusstraße and Calvinstraße it is planned to build a pedestrian zone, which is to be equipped with attractive residence offers, games and leisure activities and greening. In addition, bicycle roads are to be created in the neighborhood to improve mobility in the area.

The citizens of the neighborhood and all interested parties are invited to bring their ideas and wishes into the planning. For this purpose, an event will take place on March 18, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. on the Helgoländer Ufer, corner of Calvinstrasse. Registration is not required. Feedback can also be submitted online via Mein.Berlin.de or by post to the district office Mitte from Berlin, street and green spaces office, 13341 Berlin (inbox until March 27, 2024).

The project is expected to have a positive impact on the local community by improving the quality of life in the neighborhood and increasing environmental friendliness through the promotion of bicycle traffic. The creation of a pedestrian zone and bicycle roads also contributes to traffic calming and security and promotes a sustainable cityscape.
