New bicycle streets and green oases: planning in Tiergarten-Süd.

New bicycle streets and green oases: planning in Tiergarten-Süd.

The district councilor for order, environment, nature, streets and green spaces, Benjamin Fritz, and the district councilor for urban development and facility management, Ephraim Gothe, recently announced that up to five new bicycle roads in Tiergarten-Süd should be created. The plans were promoted in close cooperation with local actors and through the online participation of local citizens. This participation has led to numerous clues that flow into the design of the bicycle streets and the neighborhood block in Tiergarten-Süd.

The implementation of these new bicycle streets and the design of more climate-friendly areas in Pohlstrasse and Kluckstrasse will be specified at an event on April 26, 2024 in Villa Lützow. The event offers an insight into the planning and at the same time serves as an exchange of information with the local citizens.

A large number of activities on the site of the Villa Lützow are also offered, including a garden festival with a meal board, slackline, garden tours and a seed exchange market. This neighborhood festival marks the beginning of spring and invites residents and interested parties to take part in the celebrations.

Further information on cycling and bicycle roads, neighborhood blocks and drawings in the middle as well as contact details for media inquiries can be found under the listed links.

This initiative to promote bicycle traffic and to create more green areas in Tiergarten-Süd shows the commitment of the Mitte district for sustainable urban planning measures. The creation of bicycle roads increases the attractiveness of the district for cyclists and improves the quality of life and traffic safety in the region.
