Brand attack on exhibition vitrine in front of Rathaus Tiergarten - District Mayor Stefanie Remlinger comments and condemns the anti -Semitic violence.
As a citizen of Berlin, I am deeply dismayed by the arson attack on the exhibition showcase in front of the Tiergarten town hall. The Moabiter Association "You were neighbors" showed an exhibition about Jewish doctors in the Moabit hospital, which was now destroyed by this fig attack. This is not the first presumably anti -Semitic attack in the area, which indicates a worrying increase in hate crime.
The district mayor Stefanie Remlinger emphasized the importance of keeping the memory of the Holocaust awake and decidedly against anti -Semitism. The district office Mitte and the association "You were neighbors" plan to leave the destroyed showcase as a warning against anti -Semitic violence and to reopen the exhibition shortly.
It is important that we stand together as citizens and stand against hate and violence of any kind. The Mitte district office has set up a press office for further information and I encourage everyone to work for a tolerant and diverse society.
