A wreath is traditionally also located in the Tiergarten town hall. In addition, a new memorial stele on the Feldzeugmeister corner Kruppstraße is reminiscent of the history of the Tattersall college warehouse and the approximately 1,000 Jews locked in it.

The day of commemoration refers to the day of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp on January 27, 1945, in which over 1.5 million people were murdered by the National Socialists. This day marks the end of the Holocaust and is reminiscent of the immeasurable suffering that has happened millions of people.

Afterwards, a contemporary witness report by Nathan Friedenberg, head of the Mitte Museum and head of the area of expertise for culture of remembrance and history, is presented. The singer and filmmaker Kim Seligsohn then presents a "hymn to the names", in which the names of 30 Jews are recited musically, who lived in the immediate vicinity of the Moabit freight station. The event ends with the Jewish mourning prayer Kaddisch.

The Moabit memorial location is located next to Ellen-Epstein-Straße 01, or Quitzowstraße 23, 10559 Berlin (between Lidl and Hellweg).

With this event, the district office and the district council of Mitte from Berlin would like to meet their responsibility for the culture of remembrance and history and commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. It is important to become aware of the historical events and also stand in the present against anti -Semitism and every form of racism.
