Construction measures in Mitte: Refurbishment and expansion at schools in Berlin

While the students enjoy their well -deserved summer vacation in the middle, the district works with high pressure on numerous construction work in schools. These construction measures are part of the Berlin school building offensive and are intended to modernize and optimize the schools in Mitte. A total of 17 schools are affected by the renovation work that are carried out during the school holidays.
The construction work includes various work such as the renovation of water damage, the cultivation to expand school places, facade renovation, basement renovation and much more. The affected schools include the elementary school on the Arkonaplatz, the Carl-Kraemer primary school, the Theodor-Heuss Community School and the Willy-Brandt secondary school.
In addition to the renovation work, new construction measures are also carried out to further improve the school environment. Among other things, the 49th primary school on Adalbertstrasse and the school on Reinickendorfer Straße are created.
District city councilor Benjamin Fritz emphasizes the importance of these measures and explains: "The schools in Mitte should be modern and future -proof. During the summer vacation we use the time to carry out necessary construction work and improve the learning environment for the students."
The construction work during the summer vacation is an important step to make the schools fit for the future in the middle. The renovation work and new construction measures improve the infrastructure of the schools and offer students a better learning environment.
