Barrier -free living in old age: discover solutions for the middle
A call for help from the city center! The living space in Mitte is getting tighter, rents shoot up - especially for our older fellow citizens, this is a dramatic situation! The district councilor Ephraim Gothe recognized the alarming conditions and would like to find solutions together with citizens.
But how can seniors live in the middle of an expensive city without losing an overview? A move to a barrier -free apartment is simply excluded for many for financial reasons! Gothe and his colleagues want to find answers to these pressing questions:
Together develop solutions
The event will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the municipal workshop, Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 11, directly on the pulsating Alexanderplatz. Here, citizens, seniors and interested parties can bring their concerns to the table. Access is barrier -free - nobody should be excluded!
Gothe calls up the population to get involved! "How can we optimize our own four walls to make them age -appropriate? What strategies are there for a good life in old age? And what political steps do they need to be taken?" These questions are just the beginning of an open and important dialogue.
experts at the side of the citizens
In order to enrich the dialogue, experts will also have their say: Wibke Werner, Managing Director of the Berlin Tenants' Association, the Berlin-Mitte senior representative, the nursing base and Sophia Berlin bring in their perspectives. Afterwards there is the possibility for questions and personal exchange - a real space for ideas and solutions!
