Local junior projects conquer the German Children's and Youth Prize 2024
Great joy for three innovative projects in Germany! They were awarded the German Children's and Youth Prize in 2024, a prize that rewarded the impressive creativity and the tireless efforts of young people for their community. This coveted award was awarded in the Europa-Park in Rust-a spectacular place that made the celebrations even more unforgettable on this special day!
The winners come from Berlin-Lichtenberg, Mittelherwigsdorf in Saxony and Wittmund in Lower Saxony. Each of these unique projects receives prize money of 6,000 euros each! A real recognition for the passionate participation of the living environment of children and adolescents. But that's not all: projects from Lenzkirch, Lübeck and Torgelow have also been awarded praising mentions, each rewarded with 3,000 euros. The project "Youth Club to Go!" From Torgelow, which secured the European Park Junior Club Award audience award, also worth 3,000 euros!
The illuminated winning projects
Each of these projects has devoted itself to the goal of improving the life of their participants with very different focuses. An outstanding example is the social fashion project "People" from Berlin-Lichtenberg. Here, designers and children and young people who fight with existential challenges work together on joint collections. This creative cooperation not only helps the participants discover their strengths, but also to develop self -esteem and life perspectives!
Another brilliant example is the idea of ideas in Mittelherwigsdorf, which takes place around World Children's Day. Here, committed children want to actively help shape and bring their ideas into a democratic process. The Dorfrallye offers the young participants the opportunity to explore their community and formulate their wishes. This initiative brings a breath of fresh air to the village community and promotes active exchange between the generations!
First aid workshops-a strong team for the community
And what do the children from Wittmund say? You have developed an impressive project in which you carry out first aid workshops for students, kindergartens and senior citizens. Under the motto "I show you how to save", the young instructors convey everyday security techniques. The cool thing about it? The team consists of 13 students between the ages of 11 and 17 who come with and without escape experience and impairments. The active workshops not only grow the skills of the participants, but also their self -confidence!
Professor Dr. Siegfried Barth, a board member of the German Children's Aid Work, emphasizes how remarkable the young people are committed to the implementation of children's rights. "These projects are outstanding and are exemplary for the commitment of our youth!" On this day, the kids not only received an impressive prize money, but also a grandiose award ceremony in the Europa-Park, peppered with a unique supporting program that honors the creativity and wealth of ideas of youth!
The German Children's and Youth Prize is awarded in the categories of solidarity, political commitment and child and youth culture. Each of these projects offers an innovative solution to the challenges with which children and adolescents are confronted today.
