Long Night of Images: Art and culture illuminate Lichtenberg!
The cultural event “Long Night of Pictures” in Lichtenberg promises to be a highlight for those interested in art and culture this year too. On Friday, September 5, 2025, the inner courtyard of Lichtenberg Town Hall, located at Möllendorffstrasse 6, will open its doors. The official opening begins at 5 p.m. with a speech by State Secretary Oliver Friederici, district mayor Martin Schaefer and managing director Armin Hottmann. The event will be accompanied musically by the Berlin jazz formation “Syncopators”, while the “Das Weite Theater” will present an excerpt from the performance “La Luna”.
A colorful cultural program will be offered in front of the town hall from 3:30 p.m. Among others, the stilt duo “Gentlemen” from Cirque Artikuss will be featured. Guitar music by Rolf Timer, performance art “Hands-on” by artist Alexandra Nebel and the hands-on activity “Mosaic Machine” by Niklas Roy will delight the audience. There will also be a mosaic walk from 7 to 8 p.m., which offers an interactive experience.
Experience art and culture in Lichtenberg
The heart of the “Long Night of Pictures” is the discovery of the diverse art scene in Lichtenberg. More than 50 studios and galleries open their doors from 6 p.m. to midnight and invite visitors to gain insights into the artists' work spaces and the creation of their works. Shuttle buses provide convenient transport between the various art locations from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The north and south tour includes ten stops that start and end at Lichtenberg Town Hall.
Guided walking tours are offered to visitors from 7 p.m. Six different tours lead to selected locations and are accompanied by experienced guides. Registrations for these tours were possible from August 18th to September 4th, 2025.
Organizational details
The “Long Night of Images” is organized by the Lichtenberg district office in collaboration with the Kulturring in Berlin e.V. Financing comes from district funds and through the support of HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH. Information and the program are online at www.langenachtderbilder.de available. A folding plan for the event will be distributed in public institutions and at the participating art venues.
This event is not only a feast for the senses, but also an important platform for promoting the local art and culture scene in Lichtenberg. The diverse program promises exciting insights and encounters with artists who enrich the creativity and cultural life of the district.
