Global sustainability goals in focus
The bike tour is part of a larger commitment to the 17 global sustainability goals (SDGs) adopted by the global community in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda. These goals focus on issues such as combating poverty, promoting education, equality and climate protection, and provide an important framework for the development of socially, economically and environmentally sustainable measures reports the federal government.
The German Sustainability Strategy aims to specify the implementation of these SDGs and includes measures aimed at achieving the goals together. Local initiatives play an important role in assuming responsibility at both the individual and institutional levels.
The SDGs are not just a plan for governments, but also require active engagement from businesses and civil society explains Fairtrade. Local projects like the one in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg show how a creative contribution can be made to achieving these global goals. Overall, the tour not only offers an opportunity to promote cycling, but also to raise awareness of the importance of fair and sustainable products in our daily lives.
