Köpenicker Kiezfest: celebrate diversity and shape together!
As part of the cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, the “Köpenicker Kiezfest-together. Colorful. Dedicated” is organized in the Treptow-Köpenick district. The festivities will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in the ABC garden at Hirschgartenstraße 14. The event begins at 2 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. The Kiezfest is organized by Interaxion (offensive’91 e. V.), the district center Rabenhaus e. V. and numerous volunteers who are committed to promoting cohesion and voluntary work in the district. The aim of the festival is to make the cultural diversity visible and to create a room for encounter and exchange, especially in the districts of Dammvorstadt, Hirschgarten, Köpenick Nord and Friedrichshagen. The neighborhood festival marks the start of a new festival culture in Köpenick Nord, with the aim of establishing regular events that strengthen the participation of migrants.
An important aspect of the event is the invitation to various institutions, initiatives, clubs and individuals to actively participate. There are many options available, including building up your own stand and culinary or cultural contributions. Interested parties can contact Johanna Schuster from the Rabenhaus e. V. or Andrea Duncan Borja from the project coordination Interaxion. For Johanna Schuster, inquiries can be made by email to Johanna.schuster@rabenhaus.de or by phone at 0151 56144665. Review of the Kietzer Sommer
This type of events not only contributes to the cultural enrichment, but also promotes intercultural exchange (cf. Forum der Kulturen Stuttgart ), which was founded in 1998 and is committed to participating (post-) migrant organizations. With over 150 member organizations, the forum promotes intercultural dialogue, fights prejudice and racism and supports diversity through numerous cultural events. It is essential that such initiatives in cities such as Berlin continue to grow and develop to facilitate the living together.
The "Köpenicker Kiezfest" and the "Kietzer Sommer" impressively show the commitment of the communities for an open and colorful society. The continuation of these traditions is crucial to further promote the intercultural opening and to enable a framework for a respectful and appreciative exchange.
