Jordan shoots Iranian drones

Jordan participated in the defense against Iranian drones on Sunday night and was able to intercept several of these drones near the Iraqi-Syrian border. According to media reports, these drones had Jerusalem as a potential goal. The Jordanian government confirmed the shooting of the drones on Sunday morning that had entered the Jordan airspace. Fortunately, no people were injured in the incident, and there were no major damage to buildings.

Despite warnings from Iran before interfering with the conflict, Jordan implemented his project to shoot drones that would violate airspace. Against this background, Jordan had closed the airspace as a precaution late Saturday evening and reopened after ten hours on Sunday morning. The reason for this step was security concerns and the risks in the region at this time.

The approach of Jordan is particularly remarkable, since it was not only against Iran as an Arab country, but also against direct Arab countries such as Syria. The "Jerusalem Post" praised the Jordanian approach as an example of the transformation from the enemy to allies, which indicates that Jordan plays an important role in regional security dynamics. Before the peace treaty with Israel in 1995, Jordan was known as a military opponent for decades.
