Innovation in the music school: Blockbox presents Mobile Studio for Musical Diversity

The Hans-Werner-Henze Music School in Marzahn-Hellersdorf has developed an innovative mobile studio and successfully completed. The mobile studio, called Blockbox, was officially presented to the public after an intensive one -year project phase. The presentation took place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the concert hall of the music school at Maratstraße 182 in Berlin.

The block box is a music studio that is compactly packed in transportable flight cases. This unique concept is an answer to the requirements of modern music school work and expands the range of music school in the area of ​​bandwork, producing lessons and popular music offers in cooperation with regular schools. The development and implementation of the mobile studio were realized in close cooperation with the partner schools ISS Caspar-David-Friedrich, Barnim-Gymnasium and the Orwohaus e.V.

A special feature of the block box are the three flight cases optimized for car sharing transporters, which contain all the necessary band instruments and digital sound generators. E-guitars, synthesizers, drums, recording equipment and more are already wired and can be easily transported. The mobile studio can be used for recording sessions or schoolyard concerts in just a few simple steps, regardless of the location.

The innovative concept of the Hans-Werner-Henze Music School aims to make a sustainable and resource-saving contribution to combating space and financial lack in music lessons. The blockbox is to test new workshop concepts and promote the musical potential of children and adolescents.

The blockbox project is financially supported by the funding program "Culture and Libraries in the district-Kubist", which includes funds from the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRE), the European Union, the State of Berlin and the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district.

The introduction of the Mobile Studios Blockbox marks an important milestone for the Hans-Werner-Henze Music School and underlines its commitment to innovative and contemporary music education. The blockbox will undoubtedly help to further promote the musical skills and creativity of pupils in Berlin.
