Guestro hometown: Kiez dinner brings neighbors together on Winterfeldplatz!
In Berlin there is a special dinner event on Winterfeldtplatz, which not only offers culinary highlights, but also has the goal of bringing people from the neighborhood together. Organized by Olli and his friends, all in the mid -30s, this event is not supported by a church institution, but comes on their own commitment. Already in the summer they organized dinner parties in Brandenburg to reach people who cannot afford expensive restaurants. The invitation posters were hung around the Winterfeldplatz without social media being used for a doctorate.
Around 100 neighbors gathered on Sunday evening to take part in the dinner. Various dishes such as bread, salad, inserted vegetables, cheese and spreads were offered. The atmosphere was illuminated by a chain of lights, and some guests even brought wine. The district office provided tables and benches, and a tarpaulin was prepared for bad weather. The event cost a total of around 1000 euros, of which 350 euros were covered by donations. Ingrid Ackermann, a local resident, was positive about this initiative and recognized a change in the neighborhood, which is increasingly shaped by individualists and singles. The rental prices in the area have also almost doubled since 2001.
Future plans and foundation
Jan-Niklas and his friends already have plans to extend the neighborhood dinner to other districts. For this purpose, they found an association called "Meal" to improve the organization of future events. Their goal is to create social and culinary events in the coming years that strengthen the cooperation in the neighborhood.
The neighborhood initiative Kieztreff fireplace in the Soldin Kiez also shows a similar commitment. This meeting point is from the non -profit association "Community, Art and Culture in Soldiner Kiez e.V." operated and now has over 140 voluntary members. The initiative offers a space that is equipped with wooden furniture and modern stoves and promotes the gathering of a wide range of people. By supporting the campaign fund of the city of Berlin, numerous events are organized that range from game evenings to free concerts.
The importance of neighborhood projects
Neighborhood projects, such as the dinner events or the Kieztreff, are crucial for promoting the sense of community in urban rooms. They bring people together to address local challenges and vary small actions to large social and cultural initiatives. These projects not only offer a platform for social exchange, but also contribute to improving the quality of life in urban areas. Active participation in such initiatives promotes personal development, social ties and a feeling of belonging.
The different types of neighborhood projects can include social, cultural and environmental aspects. The involvement of residents is central to identifying needs and developing suitable measures. With the founding of projects like “mahlzeit” or the Kieztreff Kamine, it becomes clear how important such initiatives are for life in the city.
The future of these neighborhood projects lies in the innovation and adaptation to the changing needs of the community in order to promote sustainable dialogue and cohesion.
