Füchse Berlin celebrates new shop: Great atmosphere with Fuchsi!

On October 15, 2025, the opening of a new Füchse Berlin shop took place in Reinickendorf, which is a large part of Berlin's sporting life. District mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) congratulated the organizers and emphasized the important connection between sport and business in the region. The Foxes are known nationwide and across Europe as German champions and enjoy a high status in handball.

Cederic Haß, managing director of Füchse Berlin Reinickendorf e.V., and Thomas Dunkelmann, branch manager of Galeria Tegel, were also present at the opening ceremony. The event attracted numerous visitors who took the opportunity to explore the new shop and buy fan merchandise. The autograph cards and the photo opportunities with two Füchse players were particularly popular.

Entertainment and competitions

A highlight of the event was the club mascot “Fuchsi”, who created a good atmosphere. Fans had the opportunity to win prizes on the Wheel of Fortune and play table tennis. This contributed to a lively atmosphere and increased the sense of community among those present. In addition, the Reinickendorf district office is giving away fan articles via its Instagram and Facebook channels until October 20th to increase anticipation for the Füchse's upcoming games.

Emine Demirbüken-Wegner, who has been district mayor of Reinickendorf since April 2023, has always advocated for the integration of sport into the local economy and sees events like this as an opportunity to strengthen the sense of community. She advocates conservative-liberal politics and supports, among other things, Turkey's accession to the European Union. Her political career is characterized by numerous engagements, including as an integration officer and as state secretary for health.

With a career that dates back to the 1990s, Demirbüken-Wegner has made important contributions not only in politics, but also in social areas. Her influence ranges from education to integration policy, which underlines her commitment to promoting young talent in Berlin. Beyond current events, she remains a key person in the development of Reinickendorf.
