Renewal of Senheimer Straße: tree felling and new road surface!

– The Reinickendorf district office is planning to renew Senheimer Straße in the Frohnau district from September.
– The renovation affects a section of around 775 meters, from Zeltinger Straße to Schönfließer Straße.
– Walkways and walkway crossings remain unchanged to protect the trees.
– The aim of the measure is to improve the infrastructure in Frohnau and to take the concerns of local residents into account.
– The construction work will be carried out in three phases:
1st section: September 1, 2025 to December 2025, from Schönfließer Straße up to and including the Huttenstraße intersection (approx. 225 m).
2nd section: February 2, 2026 to June 2026, from the Huttenstraße intersection to and including the Markgrafenstraße intersection (approx. 260 m).
3rd section: July 3, 2026 to October 2026, from the Markgrafenstrasse intersection to Zeltinger Strasse (approx. 290 m).
– Pedestrian and bicycle traffic between Schönfließer Straße and Zeltinger Straße will be guaranteed throughout the entire construction period.
– The construction work is being carried out by the company AS and BE GmbH from Berlin.
– Affected residents will be informed separately before construction work begins.
– The district office asks for your understanding for the inevitable restrictions during the construction period.

– On March 2, 2021, the Berlin Senate passed the StEP MoVe as a strategic framework for action for transport until 2030.
– The aim of the plan is to slow the trend towards more vehicle traffic.
– The focus is on strengthening buses, trains, bicycles and pedestrian traffic.
– Traffic metrics show progress, but the goal has not yet been reached.
– The StEP MoVe defines that the share of the environmental network (pedestrian and bicycle traffic, buses and trains) on all routes should increase from 74% to 82% by 2030.
– This should happen at the expense of motorized individual transport.
– Berlin is planning city-friendly and climate-friendly mobility that is socially fair, ecologically and economically sensitive.
– In the medium term, Berlin is aiming for a zero emissions zone in which only vehicles with clean engines are allowed to enter.
– Berlin is following the examples of other European states and municipalities to improve the quality of life.
