Germany secures green hydrogen from Egypt for energy transition
New delegation reached important milestone in the energy transition
The H2Global Foundation achieved a significant breakthrough for the energy transition on Friday. From 2027, Germany will import green hydrogen products through a closed delivery contract. These are in particular green ammonia that is produced in Egypt using wind and solar energy. In total, at least 259,000 tons of green ammonia are exported to Germany between 2027 and 2033.
The delivery agreement, which serves as a pilot procedure for future tenders, was accompanied by the renowned company Redeker Sellner Dahs. The H2Global Foundation is a subsidiary of Hintco GmbH and is the goal of the global market high run for hydrogen. Hintco GmbH acts as an intermediary between the production and customer countries and buys green hydrogen products on the world market to sell them in Germany and the EU.
To support the energy transition and to achieve the climate goals, possible losses between the arrival and sale of the green hydrogen products are compensated for by a grant from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection. This first pilot tendering round at competitive prices represents a milestone on the way to climate neutrality.
The H2Global Foundation supportedRedeker Sellner Dahs from the start. This support included the conception of the H2Global model as well as aid, social, award and antitrust and antitrust aspects.
The foundation of the H2Global Foundation, Hintco GmbH and the brand protection for H2Global were also accompanied by Redeker Sellner Dahs. The lawyers of Redeker Sellner Dahs worked with the European Commission in the successful aid law notification procedure for the first federal subsidy of EUR 900 million.
Further auction rounds with an center equipment on the part of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection in the amount of EUR 3.5 billion and co -financing by the Netherlands are already in preparation and are also advised by Redeker Sellner Dahs.
