Senior representation in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf: New online offers!
The senior representation in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf (SV-CW) has now established its online presence and can be reached on the website www.senior.vertretung-cw.de. This provides older people in the district with an important source of information. The website includes details about the elected members of the SV-CW, their tasks and goals as well as information about office hours and other ways to get in touch. The SV-CW actively advocates for the interests of the 60+ generation, especially in decisions in the district council (BVV) and the administration. Members of the SV-CW were elected in 2022 from the group of people aged 60 and over registered in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Anyone interested can contact the SV-CW by email at seniorenvertretung.cw@gmx.de.
A central component of the SV-CW work are special offers that are geared to the needs of older people. These include, among other things, home visits, chat tables and a prevention theater by Police Department 2. A specialist conference by the Alzheimer's Relatives Initiative (AAI) is also on the program on October 30, 2025, which promotes exchange on topics related to dementia care and support.
A wide range of advisory services in the district
In addition to the work of the SV-CW, there are numerous advisory services for people aged 60 and over in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district. The Zukunftsmut 60+ network offers personal advice that includes support with applications for housing benefit and financial relief. Here, retirees can also receive help with career and qualification advice, as well as with finding volunteer positions and connecting with the neighborhood. The initial consultation serves to clarify concerns and, if necessary, to coordinate referrals to other departments. The counseling rooms at Salzufer 14A offer a protected setting for individual, partner-based or group counseling.
At the German Society for Senior Counseling (DGS) the focus is on promoting independence and security in old age. The DGS advises people aged 75 and over nationwide and provides support in important areas such as living space adaptation, assistance systems, mobility and nutrition. The consultation is free and covers topics such as assisted living at home, nutrition and senior activities. The DGS aims to help older people stay in their own four walls.
