Book premiere in Berlin: Run, Mom, run!” exciting stories for parents!

On October 23, 2025, a special event will take place in the Pablo Neruda District Central Library in Berlin: the book launch by Mareike Barmeyer. Her new work entitled "Run, Mom, Run! Stories with Children" is dedicated to the dynamics of family life in a humorous and self-deprecating way. The event begins on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 7 p.m. and will be moderated by Judith Poznan. Admission is free and if it rains, the reading will take place in the library, as berlin.de reports.

Mareike Barmeyer, who was born in Munich in 1973, studied sociology in Great Britain and received her doctorate in this field. In addition to her work as an author, she is also a lecturer in qualitative research methods at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. In her free time, Barmeyer, who now lives in Berlin and has two children, is also a co-founder of the Rocket 2000 reading stage. Her experiences as a mother flow significantly into her stories.

Book and contents

Barmeyer's book “Run, Mom, Run!” includes a total of 30 stories that deal with everyday life and the challenges of families. The humorous narrative is aimed at parents and anyone who can observe the behavior of children and their parents. This makes the book a valuable read for those interested in family life and parenting.

In addition to this book launch, Barmeyer will also take part in a taz talk, which will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 11:45 a.m. in Leipzig. This is organized as part of the Leipzig Trade Fair and offers the opportunity to find out more about the topics of everyday family life and life with children. As taz.de reports, the event will be free of charge and does not require registration. However, due to limited space, it is recommended that you arrive early. Live streaming on YouTube is also offered.

Insights into everyday family life

The stories in Barmeyer's book are intended not only to entertain, but also to encourage readers to reflect on their own experiences as parents. Following this idea, there will also be opportunities to illustrate the book's characters and themes using posters or presentations. This is also taken into account in the discussions about the presentation of their stories, as studyflix.de emphasizes.
