On Sunday night, Schöneberg experienced a shocking attack with a transphobic background. At around 10:30 p.m., a 45-year-old trans person was walking with her companion on Motzstrasse when an unknown man insulted her and suddenly attacked her with a glass bottle. The companion tried to protect himself with a chair, but the attacker hit him in the lip area before he fled.
A short time later, the alerted police discovered a suspicious man who was hiding behind a portable toilet. But when the officers saw him, he jumped over a wall and escaped. The victim suffered a hematoma to his face and was no longer at the scene after the incident. The State Police Office of the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation in order to bring the attacker to justice.
