In a dramatic traffic accident in Mitte last night, a car rolled over and landed on its roof! At around 9:45 p.m., an 80-year-old was walking on Brunnenstrasse towards Rosenthaler Platz. She wanted to turn left on Bernauer Strasse and collided with an oncoming Mercedes that was being driven by an 18-year-old. The impact was violent: the pensioner's car overturned and ended up on its roof!
The 18-year-old's vehicle bounced back and hit another car driven by a 26-year-old in the left lane. A blessing in disguise: The 18-year-old and the 26-year-old remained uninjured, but the 80-year-old suffered serious trunk and arm injuries. Her 81-year-old passenger also met fate with a pelvic injury! Both had to be taken to hospital after the horrific incident. Emergency services were on duty until around 3:45 a.m. while the intersection area remained closed. A police commissioner for traffic offenses is now investigating.
