Queer -hostile crimes in Prenzlauer Berg: rainbow flag destroyed!
The LGBTQ+community in Prenzlauer Berg was attacked by a group of young men on Sunday night. According to witnesses, seven to eight people appeared at the bar on Eberswalder Strasse at 1:45 a.m. and started with queer -hostile actions. A 17-year-old threw a rainbow flag into a trash can, while an accomplice threatened a baseball bat before escaping from the arriving police.
The police were able to arrest a 19-year-old from the group who insulted the bar operator Homophob. After the identity assessment, the two suspects were released, but the 19-year-old received a dismissal. The police protection of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office has started the investigation to counter homophobic violence in the capital.
