In Gesundbrunnen, a spectacular police operation last night caused a stir: a 22-year-old suspected drug dealer was injured during his arrest! The young man, who was traveling in a rental car with four other people, tried to evade control and raced across Seestrasse in a daring attempt to escape. Road users had to take evasive action to avoid colliding with the fleeing car.
In the end, his escape didn't last long. At the intersection of Sternstrasse and Gottschalkstrasse, the 22-year-old jumped out of the car and continued running on foot, but a police car caught up with him shortly afterwards and hit him, whereupon he fell and sustained abrasions to his legs - but he refused medical treatment. During the check it turned out that the fugitive did not have a valid driver's license and was suspected of driving under drugs. The police also found a small container of cocaine in the car and temporarily arrested the suspect. Still shaken by the dramatic events, the investigation is now continuing as the judiciary investigates charges of assault in office.
