Construction work on the bicycle road begins: restrictions from November 10th!

On November 7, 2025, key information about the upcoming construction offensive for the bicycle road in Lichtenberg was published today. Construction work on the bicycle route, which includes Hentigstrasse, Cäsarstrasse and Römerweg, will begin on Monday, November 10, 2025. The first section concerns Hentigstrasse between Dönhoffstrasse and Marksburgstrasse. During the work, temporary closures and stopping bans will be set up on the affected road sections.

District councilor Filiz Keküllüoğlu (Alliance 90/The Greens) was grateful for the participation of the residents. This collaboration contributed significantly to the planning. The traffic law order for the first section is valid until November 28, 2025 and will be implemented in three sections. As mentioned, the work starts on November 10th.

Details about construction planning

Residents will be informed through notices to keep them up to date on progress and any changes. The asphalt surface on Hentigstrasse was partially renovated in June 2025, and the current work includes setting up signage and marking work on the road. This marking work is weather dependent, which is why the start of further sections is still unclear. The entire measure is expected to be completed in spring 2026.

A feasibility study to redesign the street was commissioned by the Lichtenberg district office. This study was based on the resolution of the district council of September 22, 2022. The results were presented publicly on February 11, 2025 and both online and on-site participation took place to include residents and interested parties. Further information about the project is available on the website.

Event review and future plans

In another area of concern to many people, Live Nation reported on the success of their 2024 events. In total, 151 million people attended nearly 55,000 events, an increase of 4% compared to last year. Notably, 60 million fans frequented venues operated by Venue Nation, a significant double-digit increase.

Live Nation's revenue rose 3% to $23.16 billion, with adjusted operating income growing 14% to $2.15 billion. This positive result also continues in ticket sales: Ticketmaster sold 637 million tickets in 2024, an increase of 2.7%. Live Nation plans to add 20 new large venues by 2026 to attract 6 to 7 million additional fans.

Live Nation's positive developments are underpinned by significant increases in ticket sales and upcoming $900 million in investments for 2025, while remaining mindful of the ongoing antitrust lawsuit from the U.S. Department of Justice. How Berlin.de and Music Business Worldwide report, both the construction projects in Lichtenberg and Live Nation's event plans are in the public eye and make a decisive contribution to the vibrant cultural and infrastructure development in Berlin and beyond.
