Theater performance STAUB”: Young talents explore time in Reinickendorf!

On Friday, June 6th, 2025 and Saturday, June 7th, 2025, the DramArt theater group will present the play “STAUB – an autofictional examination of time”. The performances begin at 8 p.m. and take place in the studio stage of the ATRIUM youth art school in Berlin. Alexander Maulwurf leads the group, which has been working on workshops on the multifaceted topics surrounding time since the beginning of the 2024/25 school year.

In these workshops, young actors between the ages of 18 and 26 from all over Berlin learn to question the concepts of time. The topics of the workshops are complex and range from “having time” to “taking time” to “time as a construct”. This demonstrates DramArt's commitment to making cultural education accessible to youth and providing practical experience in the performing arts. Admission to the performance is free and tickets can be reserved by phone or email.

Cultural education in the district

City Councilor for Culture Harald Muschner (CDU) speaks of the great importance of cultural education in Reinickendorf. Youth art schools, like ATRIUM, are important places for creative learning and offer artists a space to develop their talents. These schools combine art, media, dance, theater, culture and games and thus cover the need for cooperation and networking in the cultural education landscape. According to that Federal Association of Youth Art Schools and Cultural Education Institutions Every year, around 500,000 young people take advantage of the offerings, which offer a wide range of opportunities for creative development in areas such as fine art, dance, theater, photography, music and literature.

The youth art schools' offerings are based on the Child and Youth Welfare Act, which promotes cultural education. This institution is a central part of the cultural landscape in Germany and is supported by around 400 youth art schools across the country. The formats are designed to give children and young people of all ages the opportunity to gain creative experiences and promote their design skills, creativity and team spirit.

DramArt: A dedicated team

DramArt has existed for over ten years and can look back on a changing number of players of up to 12. The group also shows impressive results of independent theater work in Berlin and offers young people a medium-term horizon for artistic creation. Networking with other cultural institutions and collaboration with various educational institutions are of great importance here. These not only promote creative exchange, but also the self-efficacy of young talents.

The challenges of the topic of time are highly topical in today's society. The piece “STAUB” will therefore not only function as entertainment, but also as an important reflection on the perception and meaning of time for the young actors and the audience.
