ThaiMarkt opened in Berlin-Wilmersdorf: New season, new location!
Württembergische Straße 1, 10707 Berlin, Deutschland - The ThaiMarkt in Berlin-Wilmersdorf opens the new season at a new location on April 5, 2025. After years of Tradition in the Prussian park, the market is now taking place at Württembergische Strasse 1. This was organized by the Berlin Thai Association, which runs the market. With around 23 stalls, the Thaimarkt offers a diverse selection of authentic Asian street kitchen from Thailand, Korea, Vietnam and Japan, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
The market is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will take place by the end of September. The visitors are free to admit. In the course of the move, the opening times were extended by one hour until 9:00 p.m. to enable a longer enjoyment of Thai cuisine. Artists are invited to present their music and art, which gives the market an additional cultural flair.
background and move
Originally, the ThaiMarkt had started as a small picnic in the 1990s, but quickly developed into a popular cultural meeting point. The CDU and the Greens were challenged last year to combat problems such as noise and garbage in the Prussian park and to protect nature in this area. This decision led to mixed reactions and a petition that collected almost 41,000 signatures to maintain the market in the former location.
Thai cuisine itself is known for its versatility and freshness. It combines influences from Indian, Chinese and European cuisine and offers a large selection of dishes. In particular, soups such as the popular Tom Kha Gai or the sharp Tom Yam are very much in demand for market visitors. In addition to these specialties, guests can also enjoy various curries and traditional street food dishes.
diverse offer
The highlights of the market include:
- Krapao Gai
- look shin only ping
- Pad Thai
- Tom Kha Gai
In addition, vegan and vegetarian options, such as the "vegany" stand, are also available. The market is therefore a real pleasure for everyone who wants to experience the aromas of Thai cuisine.
In addition to the Thaimarkt, there are also alternatives such as the Thai Bridge in the Gleisdreieckpark, which also offers authentic Thai Street food and begins their season with the festival for the Buddhist New Year's Songkran. From this year, the Thaimarkt on Württembergische Strasse will be a place where culture and culinary delights come together - a real profit for the city and its international visitors.
For everyone who loves Thai cuisine or want to get to know it for the first time, the ThaiMarkt in Berlin-Wilmersdorf is the ideal opportunity to experience a piece of Asia in the capital. The combination of delicious dishes and cultural exchange promises an unforgettable experience for all senses.
