Search for presumably missing person in the Spree - divers and rescue workers in action
On Sunday afternoon, a search for a person presumably fallen into the water was carried out in the Spree. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the Berlin fire brigade to the Tagesspiegel on request. According to the B.Z. Witnesses had observed at around 5 p.m. how a person is said to have fallen into the water behind the Paul Löbe house. The person then no longer appeared, said the fire brigade spokesman.
After the rescue workers were alerted, divers from the fire brigade and the German-Lifetime Sealing Society (DLRG) began searching in the affected area. Unfortunately, the search was unsuccessful and was canceled at around 6 p.m. During the search, shipping traffic on the Spree had to be temporarily stopped.
The exact background and the identity of the missing person are currently still unknown. However, the police continue to investigate the incident. It is to be hoped that the missing person will be found as soon as possible and everything turns out to be a misunderstanding.
